A32 Noise

Since 2007, Italian Legislative Decree 194/2005 “Implementation of Directive 2002/49/EC relating to the assessment and management of environmental noise” has placed an obligation on Companies and operators of related infrastructure to draw up noise mapping and action plans for major roads, generally every five years.

In compliance with the deadlines indicated by the aforementioned Directive 2002/49/EC and its implementation at national level, the Concessionaire has therefore drawn up the updates (fourth phase) relating to the Noise Mapping (referring to the year 2021) and the 2024-2029 Action Plan for the A32 Torino-Bardonecchia section.

Using specific indicators, the Noise Mapping represents the exposure generated by motorway traffic, taking into account the mitigation measures in place at the time the study was drawn up.

The Action Plan identifies noise pollution problems including their effects and, based on the results of the Noise Mapping, defines the actions and interventions that must be implemented to reduce them, fully implementing the Noise Abatement Plan pursuant to the DMA of 29.11.2000, approved in the first phase by Decree of the Ministry for the Environment 2011-0000029 of 11/3/2011 (now the Ministry for the Environment and Energy Security).

In compliance with the requirements of Article 8 of Italian Legislative Decree 194/2005, paragraphs 1, 2 and 3, the Company therefore published the Mapping and the proposed Action Plan on its institutional website on 31/05/2024, also by means of notices in daily newspapers, so that the public could consult them and submit written comments and statements within the following 45 days.
